How do I get started?

Getting started is easy;

  1. Choose your challenge: physical or creative inspired by the number 450.
  2. Set your duration: a day, week or across the whole month of April.
  3. Sign up: personalise your page with why you have chosen to join Pledge 450.

Does it cost anything to Sign Up?

Pledge 450 is free to sign up.

Where does my money go?

Every dollar you raise as part of Pledge 450 will help the Childhood Cancer Association deliver the 30 vital support services to families impacted by cancer including professional counselling, accommodation for country families needing to relocate to Adelaide for their child’s treatment, educational support, equipment loans and bereavement support.

Can I sign up after Pledge 450 has started?

Yes, you can! As there are so many different ways you can complete Pledge 450, in a day, week or across the whole month of April you can sign up anytime.

How do I join or create a team?

Setting up a team is easy, you will see an option to 'Create' or 'Join' a team in the sign up process.

How many people can I have in my team?

You can have as many people join you team as you wish. There are no limits on how many people can participate.

Note: when it comes to prize draw’s and milestone rewards this is based on individual team members fundraising totals not the combined team total.

Can our organisation or school sign up for Pledge 450?

Yes, organisations, schools or community groups can certainly register for Pledge 450.  Sign up as a team, set your pledge, fundraising target and off you go!

How do I track my progress?

You will be able to connect several activity trackers/apps, as well as providing updates with a short blog and/or pictures. Just log into your account, click on ‘Edit My Page’then ‘Update Your Blog’.

How do I ask for donations?

Here are some tips for fundraising:

  • Kickstart your fundraiser by donating to yourself!
  • Share your personal fundraising page URL on social media and tell your friends and family about your pledge.
  • Update your page as you train for or progress through your chosen challenge.
  • Download our Pledge 450 resources from the home page to help spread the word.
  • Make a list of all the people you could ask and reach out to them individually, as you will be more likely to receive a response.
  • As your workplace to collar match donations made to your page.
  • Say thank you to all your supporters and do it publicly, include your page link so others will be reminded to donate.

How do I share my fundraising page?

Share your unique fundraising page URL using the social media sharing options located in your dashboard.

Pledge 450 milestone rewards

Individual milestone rewards

  1. Raise $45 and be in the draw to win a $450 Coles Myer Gift card.
  2. Raise $225 (50% of the Pledge 450 goal) and receive a free Pledge 450 Cap.
  3. Raise $450 (100% of the Pledge 450 goal) and complete your chosen challenge and receive a Pledge 450 Lapel Pin.

Team milestone rewards

  1. When an individual team member raises $45 they will be placed in the draw to win a $450 Coles Myer Gift Card.
  2. When an individual team member raises $225 (50% of the Pledge 450 goal) they will receive a free Pledge 450 Cap.
  3. When an individual team member raises $450 (100% of the Pledge 450 goal) and compleses their chosen chosen challenge they will receive a Pledge 450 Lapel Pin.

What if I receive a donation by cash or cheque?

Collecting donations via your online fundraising page will make your life easier as the donations come straight to the Childhood Cancer Association and your supporters will automatically be issued with a receipt. That said, if you receive a donation via cheque, it needs to be made payable to the Childhood Cancer Association brought into the office. Contact us if you have any further questions.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes, all donations to your online page are tax deductible with the supporter receiving their receipt via email immediately after finalising the donation.

What happens if I do not reach my goal?

Pledge 450 is about challenging yourself and while raising vital funds for the Childhood Cancer Association. While setting goals can keep you motivated, it is okay if you do not meet them.

Do I need to be over 18 years old to fundraise?

We welcome fundraisers of all ages, but if you are under 18, you will need to ask your parent/guardian for permission to participate.

Am I covered under the Childhood Cancer Association’s insurance when completing Pledge 450?

No, you are not covered under the Childhood Cancer Association’s Public Liability Insurance while completing Pledge 450.

Can I use the Childhood Cancer Association’s Logo to promote my Pledge?
